(5/10/25) A Pre-Mother's Day Adventure: Pony Ride, Barn + Horse Visit, Tree Play, Wildflowers + Beach!

DIFFICULTY LEVEL: EASY. The 1-mile total hike will be a gentle wander through the woods, with a downhill in the beginning and an easy gradual climb back to the trailhead. The pony ride will be two laps around an arena; barn visit will last roughly 30 minutes.

PONY PACKAGE

Pony ride/Barn tour/Horse with ocean background for photo opportunity (separate from FAMILY ADVENTURE SQUAD FEE; make separate payment to FAS on Zelle - 6508882765 - and label it “PONY RIDE/TOUR”). Check out the stables

$40 per child (NOTE: Depending on how many we are; we may be eligible for a discount! Miranda will keep everyone posted)(NO charge for adults)

WHAT’S INCLUDED

1. Two laps on a pony in an arena with a parent walking alongside
2. One child per pony only (it’s the law)
3. Barn tour about 30 minutes: kids will get to pet and feed horses, meet the 2 miniature goats (pony rides will be ongoing during tour so families may miss a part of the tour)
4. Photo opportunity with child on horse and parents alongside, with ocean in background!

HOW WILL OUTING WORK?

We’ll meet at the stables where families will go on a barn tour. The stables will offer pony rides during the tour for up to 4 families to peel off at a time. The rides last about 10 minutes. Families can also explore the grounds, get a photo on a horse with the ocean in a stunning background, and kids can check out the antique tractor!

After the pony ride and barn tour, we’ll do a short half mile hike by wildflowers, edible plants and cypress trees, to the beach, where we will picnic + play!

WHAT IF YOU ONLY WANT TO DO THE HIKE?

That’s fine! We’ll set a meetup time at the barn for those families.

PHOTOG OPTION: If you want family photos, on the horse, or on the beach/hike, please indicate this on the form. A mini-session is typically around $40 for 15 minutes. That’s an estimate and could change depending on the photographer (this will be a separate payment to the photographer; please do not send money now, we’ll let you know if we have enough folks who are interested in photos to engage a photographer).

EVERY 10TH: For every 10th family who signs up for this outing, we can welcome a family for free. This is geared toward low income families. We don't check income; this is an honor system. If you want to join under the EVERY 10TH program, please write EVERY 10TH in the payment section. When deciding, we will give priority (among other factors) to those who have never joined an outing to ensure that everyone gets a chance to attend.
