What to expect:
🐦🦋🐛🐢🦆🐌 WILDLIFE! Birds, butterflies, ducks, turtles, banana slugs galore and maybe even deer or bats — kiddos will love spotting animals in the wild (and parents will love the photo ops!).
💦💦💦 Unique Waterfalls: The creek and waterfalls are formed in a different way from our usual explorations. NOTE: Reaching one of the waterfalls is difficult.
🪨🪵🪨Nature's Maze via Bridges + Creek: Kids will have an opportunity to hike through the creek under bridges and get a fun adventure that will lend itself to their imaginations.
🪨🪨🪨 Indigenous Relics: We will get to learn about and examine traces of the first people who called this forest home.
🌸🌼🪻🌲Wildflowers + LUSH GREEN REDWOOD FOREST! We'll hopefully catch late-season wildflowers. Enjoy the flowers and the beautiful shades of green everywhere!

🏕️❤️🫂 Community, friendship + support: Instant 'playdate' for your kiddos! We usually have kids from toddlers up to tweens join, with all of the kids playing together. You might see old MMH friends + hopefully make some new ones, too! We also offer all kinds of support: Forgot baby wipes? Need more snacks? Solo parenting on the outing and need some extra help? DIFFICULTY LEVEL: EASY. The hike has a gradual uphill. You should be able to hike two miles total, with stops along the way for play plus lunch at the halfway point. Stroller/wagon friendly!

EVERY 10TH: For every 10th family who signs up for this outing, we can welcome a family for free. This is geared toward low income families. We don't check income; this is an honor system. If you want to join under the EVERY 10TH program, please write EVERY 10TH in the payment section. When deciding, we will give priority (among other factors) to those who have never joined an outing to ensure that everyone gets a chance to attend.
